A A Best Company warranty on Convertible Tops and related items
A A Best Company warrants all its convertibile tops, glass and plastic curtains to be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of shipment. Damage resulting from improper installation, incorrect cleaning solutions, improper cleaning and care methods or atmospheric conditions are the responsibility of the purchaser and/or installer. If one of the products manufactured should fail or be unacceptable due to defects in the manufacturing, any and all adjustments will be on a pro-rated basis from the time of purchase. A A Best Company reserves the right to determine if a warranty claim is valid. We may insist that the item be returned for us for examination.
While we do not require professional installation to honor the warranty, it is strongly recommended. An Automotive Upholstery and Trim Shop should have all of the required tools and experience to complete the installation properly. Many vehicles have been on the road being bounced around for many years causing misalignment in the frame structure. Metal failure in the convertible arms and bows can cause bowing, thus throwing the opening and closing out of adjustment. Rust can also occur in some of the flexible joints, which can lead to uneven closing and opening of the top. These problems can put undue strains on the fabric, which can result in early convertible top material failure. To keep your convertible top functioning correctly, please check these critical areas when replacing your top. Damage to your new top caused by improper installation or damaged and/or improperly functioning frames are not covered by the warranty.

Warranty Items Convertible Tops Tops are guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects, and against failure of the material, such as cracking or delamination, excessive shrinkage and severe discoloration. Guaranteed for 60 months, unless otherwise specified. Glass Curtains There is no warranty against breakage during or after installation. They are guaranteed against separation of the bon between the fabric and glass. The silicone hinge used on folding glass is guaranteed for 36 months, while the bond to the fabric and all other glass assemblies are guaranteed for 60 months, unless otherwise specified. Plastic Curtains Plastic curtain assemblies are guaranteed only against separation of the bond between the fabric and the plastic as well as the zipper. We use plastic zippers in order to control corrosion. There is no warranty against scratching and/or discoloration of the plastic. Plastic will normally change color as it matures. Guaranteed for 12 months, unless otherwise specified. Other Products We guarantee our other products against failure of the material, such as cracking or delamination, and excessive shrinkage. Guaranteed for 12 months, unless otherwise specified. Labor Credits If a product is found to be defective during the first 12 months, a new product will be issued at no charge, plus a labor allowance to be determined. If a product is found to be defective after the 12th month, but prior to the 25th month, a new product will be issued, with no labor allowance. If a product fails after the 25th month, but prior to the end of the warranty period, a new product will be issued on a pro-rated basis only. |
Exclusions from Warranty Shrinkage All materials, whether cloth or vinyl, will experience some shrinkage and color fading due to the aging process of the material. UV Exposure All tops when folded down, must be covered by the boot cover in order to protect the underside of the fabric from sunlight (ultra violet rays). Failure to protect the backing will cause degradation of the backing material. Plastic Curtains Folding and/or bending of the plastic curtain when the temperature is below 45 degrees (F) can cause fracture or breakage in the plastic. If a brass zipper is ordered, then there is no guarantee against corrosion of the zipper. All plastic curtains might experience some pitting or discoloration of the surface if they remain in the box for over 12 months. Thread All polyester threads will experience some levels of fading and deterioration over time. Installation Failure to install product as originally installed/designed may cause damage to the product. Top Frames A A Best Company will not be responsible for damage to the product caused by a worn, mis-aligned or damaged top frame. Alterations Any changes in the product will void the warranty. Acts of God A A Best Company cannot be held responsible for damage caused by acts of God. Zippers Zippers are not covered by the warranty. Conditions Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. There are no additional warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, beyond what is in this document. |
Prior to beginning installation, please check your order to be sure that everything is correct (year, make, model, color, material, etc). If we sent you the wrong item, we will gladly accept it back and ship you the correct item, providing the incorrect item is returned in original condition. We cannot exchange incorrect items if installation has been started.
If you feel that there is a defect in the manufacturing of the top, please do not begin installation. If a defect is discovered during installation, please stop the installation. Do not attempt to alter, modify, or attempt to "make it work" in any way. Please contact A A Best Company during normal business hours, so that we may attempt to discover what the problem is. Please send an email to aabest@ptd.net with the subject line of "Warranty" and include in the body of the email the name the products were ordered under, the year, make and model of the vehicle, the approximate date of the order, and a brief description of the problem. Also, be sure to include some digital photos showing the defect. This will help us to determine what the problem is, with out you having to return the top before a decision can be made.
If a warranty issue is discovered, A A Best Company will provide you with a Returned Goods Request (RGR) number. You will be required to repackage any defective items and return them to us.
